The Ruth Bancroft Garden

Monday I had a couple of hours to myself in Walnut Creek and decided to visit the Ruth Bancroft Garden http://www.ruthbancroftgarden.org, I took the self guided tour and had a nice time strolling through the garden taking pictures of some amazing plants (mostly succulents and cacti). Ruth Bancroft will be 100 years old in September and still lives in her home adjacent to the garden.

Wylde Women Award

I have been honored with the new blogger "Wylde Women Award" that Tammy Vitale recently created along with the artwork above? Thank you so much La Donna http://ladonnawelter.blogspot.com/, you are a sweetheart and you so deserved the award.

-The Purpose of the Award is "To send love and acknowledgment to women who brighten your day, teach you new things and live their lives fully with generosity and joy."
By receiving the award I get to share it with some of my favorite bloggers.

Here are the rules.
1. You can give it to one or one hundred or any number in between - it's up to you. Make sure you link to their site in your post.
2. Link back to this blogsite (www.tammyvitale.com/) so Tammy can go visit all these wonderful women.
and remember the Purpose of the Award: To send love and acknowledgment to women who brighten your day, teach you new things and live their lives fully with generosity and joy.

I would now like to pass the award on to these talented women that brighten my day when I visit their sites or when they come by and leave me sweet comments:

I was shopping for some plants at the nursery this morning and I found this planter, isn't she cute?
Dahlias from the garden. The pitcher was a gift from a great aunt in Mexico when I was a child. My name is painted on the front.

Mazatlan Mosaic

It was wonderful! We've been back a week and though I'm glad to be home I'm also missing Mazatlan, especially the climate - we came back to 100+ degree temps. I'm still trying to get back into the swing of things and that's difficult after a week of lounging poolside, eating great food, spending quality time with the extended family and enjoying all the beautiful sites and sounds of Mazatlan.
